PRINCETON, W. Va. — The Elizabethton Twins road record this season is less than good, and on Sunday afternoon at Hunnicutt Field, they dropped their fourth consecutive away game and fifth overall to the Princeton Rays, 4-2.

The P-Rays (27-30) racked up 10 hits on the evening — including a 2-for-3 evening from Yunior Martinez with two RBIs — and held the Twins (27-30) to just five hits.

Elizabethton scored in the third and fourth innings, but could not get much after those frames. They had seven runners left on base and were 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Max Smith hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and was the only E-Twins player with multiple hits on the day. He also had a double.

Ben Gross picked up the loss for Elizabethton and dropped to 3-3 on the season.

Stanley Sabino improved upon his spotless record, picking up his fifth win of the season. He pitched three innings and struck out five batters.

Addison Moss picked up his second save of the season for Princeton, pitching a perfect last two frames and striking out a pair.

With the loss, the E-Twins fell a half-game behind the Kingsport Mets for third place and are two games behind Appalachian League West leader Johnson City.

With both Kingsport and Elizabethton losing Sunday, Bristol now takes sole possession of second place, just a half-game behind the Cardinals.

Princeton and Elizabethton will continue the series Monday, with the first pitch slated for 6:30 p.m.
