Science Hill flattens Cocke County

With Andrew Miller, Alex Elmore and Jackson Hill combining for 10 RBIs, Science Hill routed Cocke County 22-1 in Friday’s non-conference baseball action at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.

Doing all of their scoring in the first two innings, the Hilltoppers went bonkers in the second frame, pushing across 16 runs.

Miller drove in four runs as he doubled twice in a 2-for-2 showing. Elmore, who was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs, and Hill, 1 for 1 with two runs of his own, added three RBIs apiece.

Science Hill outhit the Fighting Cocke 18-1 in the five-inning affair. Matthew Levi batted 3 for 3, scoring two times. Multi-hit outputs also came from Landon Slemp (2 for 2, 3 runs, 2 RBIs) and Jack Torbett (2 for 2, 2 runs, 2 RBIs).

Cade McCoy was responsible for a double and three runs while Garrett Gleason had two RBIs.

Hilltopper pitchers Miller (2 innings), Gleason (2) and Quinn Boyle (1) combined for 10 strikeouts, led by Gleason’s five.

Evan Nease produced the lone Cocke County hit, going 1 for 1.
