BURLINGTON, N.C. — Convincing their bats to make some late-inning noise, Elizabethton shook loose from Burlington for a 10-3 Appalachian League baseball conquest on Tuesday night.

It was a 3-3 game heading into the seventh, where the Twins quickly got something going. Yeltsin Encarnacion led off with a double and scored two batters later on a two-bagger from Trevor Larnach.

Chris Williams followed up with a walk, then Alex Robles delivered an RBI single for a 5-3 lead.

Elizabethton added plenty of insurance in the form of a five-run eighth. The Twins loaded the bases before Larnach delivered an RBI single with one away and Lean Marrerro scored on a passed ball.

Williams supplied the top highlight of the inning with a two-run double, plus he crossed the plate when Michael Helman reached on an infield error.

Larnach went 4 for 5 with three runs and four RBIs while Williams totaled three RBIs in a 3-for-4 effort featuring two doubles. Encarnacion (3 runs), Marrero (2 runs) and Robles each batted 2 for 5 as the Twins outhit the Royals, 15-8.

Brhet Bailey (2 for 4) and Jose Marquez (2 for 5, double) topped Burlington offensively.

Kody Funderburk (1-0) pitched 3 1/3 innings of closing relief for his first decision of the year. Yielding no runs, he struck out four batters.
