PULASKI, Va. — With Leandro Cedeno doing the heaviest damage, Johnson City knocked off Pulaski 9-3 Tuesday night in Appalachian League baseball action.

Going 3 for 5 with two runs and three RBIs, Cedeno swatted a two-run home run in the third inning. The fence-clearing shot was part of a four-run burst that catapulted the Cardinals to a 5-2 lead.

Kevin Woodall, who batted 2 for 3, ripped a two-run homer in a three-run JC ninth, which capped all scoring.

The Cardinals received a 2-for-4 (double), 2-run output from Donivan Williams. Adding a 2-for-5 effort was Moises Castillo.

Johnson City totaled 13 hits while Colin Schmid (1-0), Enrique Perez, Evan Sisk and Parker Kelly combined to limit the Yankees to five.

Schmid registered a six-inning start, surrendering three runs on three hits and a trio of walks. He amassed three of the Cards’ eight strikeouts.

Kelly threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up a save.
