ELIZABETHTON — A new art place is opening in downtown Elizabethton in Building 518 by Marcia Ross, who has been active in the restoration of the Bonnie Kate Theater.

As one of her first projects, Ross is promoting her “Recycled Christmas Ornaments” this Saturday. Children can come between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and make ornaments out of found objects. The ornaments will be placed on Christmas trees that will be on display in the large windows at the front of Building 518 through the Christmas season.

Ross said the young artists can take their favorite ornament home with them. The cost of the art workshop is a $5 maintenance fee. The trees will be on display, starting with the Christmas Open House on Nov. 10 and continuing throughout the Christmas season.
