Each of the events have been celebrations of art, with artists demonstrating their work in downtown stores. It is also a chance for shop owners to stay open a bit later and for shoppers to visit stores they may not have seen before.
Adult and children’s prizes given away at the end of the Art Walk to provide the incentive for shoppers to broaden their usual shopping pattern.
At the start of the event, shoppers must stop at the Coffee Company to pick up a passport. The passport has room for 17 stores. Contestants must stop at every store and get their passport stamped in order to be eligible for the drawing.
But there is plenty more the art walk. There will be plenty of sales and other items that may be new to the store or not normally stocked. In addition, the artists will be working at the store. There will be several types of artists working, from painters to woodworkers, glassworkers, fiber artists, and others.
There will also be four bands playing during the night. They include Julie Williams and Friends, Tim Nave, David Byrd, and Nowhere Valley Band.
At 8 p.m., the drawings will be held at the Bonnie Kate Theater. The fbands will also head there for an after party celebration. There will also be an after party event at the Riverside Taphouse.
