Kingsport

1. Make sure you bring your hiking shoes to Warriors Path State Park, 490 Hemlock Road, Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. for a two-mile hike around the remote corners of the park. Seek out wildlife tracks and signs on a guided tour that is expected to last until noon. Weather permitting, you may even get to make plaster tracks as a keepsake. Bristol

1 A month out from the annual Rhythm and Roots Reunion, take an afternoon at the Birthplace of Country Music and Museum, 520 Birthplace of Country Music Way, to see how the festival got its roots 17 years ago with nine stages, a few thousand stages and about 100 bands. The exhibit opens Saturday in the special exhibits gallery and will run through Oct. 21. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
