Spring Tonics Class: Samadhi Healing Arts Center will host a class that instructs participants in using traditional Appalachian techniques to make herbal simples used for apothecary purposes. Power Hour exercise class: Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., will hold Power Hour classes for those 50 and older to improve muscular strength and endurance using weights and resistance training equipment. Two classes will be held each Friday in March from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Cost is $2 per class. Class size is limited to 14 and preregistration at MPCC is required. National Active and Retired Federal Employees Meeting: The National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet on Thursday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at the Empire Buffet, 2614 N. Roan St., Johnson City. The speaker will be Dr. Brian Noland, president of ETSU.
Ruritan Country Breakfast: Bowmantown Ruritan country breakfast will be held Saturday, March 3, at 1571 Barkley Road, Telford. Breakfast will be in exchange for a donation to community needs, particularly for upcoming Little League games. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, grits, apples, orange juice, and coffee will be served. All you can eat.
Friday night dances: Put on your dancing shoes and join Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., which hosts dances for those 50 and older with live bands the first and third Fridays of each month.
