Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced an agreement with two companies to take pet collars containing the chemical propoxur off the market. The agency found "unacceptable risks to children" the first day after the collar is put on.

Covered Bridge 5K Run/3K Walk June 14 to benefit Sycamore Shoals Hospital Foundation

Funds raised by the race will go toward upgrades to the medical/surgical floor at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Last year's events raised nearly $23,000 and benefited the Chest Pain Center at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
