Familiar foes will square off today in the Region 1-AAA basketball championship. Science Hill held off Tennessee High 52-46 in the semifinal nightcap after Dobyns-Bennett beat district tournament champion David Crockett 57-54 in the opener.

Elizabethton built a 17-point lead, and watched all but one point of it seep away in the fourth quarter. Still the Cyclones earned their first Region 1-AA basketball championship since 2003, holding off Greeneville 53-51.
