Vines repeats state championship in Class A/AA tennis

The nationally ranked Vines defeated Fayetteville's Skylar McDonald in the finals for the second straight year, winning 6-2, 6-1 on a crystal clear Friday afternoon at Old Fort Park courts.

It was another special performance for Barnard, who combined with track and cross country, earned his fifth and sixth state championships with his victories in the boys' 1,600 at 4:13.97 and the 3,200 at 9:11.05.

Germantown Houston was awarded two penalty kicks for interpreted fouls in the box, and converted both of them in a 3-2 victory over the Hilltoppers in the Class AAA soccer title match at Richard Siegel Soccer Complex on Friday.
