With the recruiting season mostly behind him, East Tennessee State football coach Carl Torbush is moving on with other priorities.High on his list is expanding the new programs coaching staff in the early spring.

East Tennessee State took the long route to win its season-opening series with Longwood. After taking a 7-3 win in game one of Mondays doubleheader, the Bucs went 12 innings in the nightcap before Clint Freeman scored off an error for a 5-4 victory.

East Tennessee State has steadily been building speed for about a month now in its final Atlantic Sun Conference basketball race. Whether the Bucs have enough to take down the frontrunners come tournament time remains to be seen.
