In early 2012, Washington County’s first archivist, Ned Irwin, humbly made a nest in his new office at 103 W. Main St. in Jonesborough and slowly but surely began his journey to save the county’s most valuable historical documents.

Beer can heaved at mower near Opie Arnold Road; two charged after mower overturns

A state contract mower overturned his John Deere tractor Monday after an irate motorist drove at him head-on, and the passenger threw a beer at him, which caused him to lose control of the machine, according to a court document filed in Jonesborough.
