Legend has it that the bank vault door in what is now a condominium on the corner of East Main and North Roan streets was so heavy that water needed to be poured on the floor and frozen so the 22-ton door could be slid into place.

City police said two Murfreesboro men were arrested on drug, evading arrest and other charges after they drove through a stop sign and into an oncoming vehicle in an attempt to elude officers.
