Meteorologists with the National Weather Service Station in Morristown have confirmed that the severe storms that ravaged parts of Sullivan and Washington counties were tornadoes.

The National Weather Service Station in Morristown has downgraded Washington and Sullivan counties to a tornado watch, while parts of Johnson, Unicoi and Carter counties remain in a tornado warning.
