More Appalachian Fairground arrests: Wanted federal fugitive captured, juvenile accused of marijuana sales

A Johnson City man charged with multiple counts of statutory rape for having sex with a 17-year-old runaway at the Appalachian Fairgrounds was just one of several people charged with crimes during the six-day annual event.

A state contract mower overturned his John Deere tractor Monday after an irate motorist drove at him head-on, and the passenger threw a beer at him, which caused him to lose control of the machine, according to a court document filed in Jonesborough.
