Dramatic birdie gives Virginia BOT title

Derek Bard, a freshman playing his first collegiate tournament, sank a 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole Sunday, giving Virginia a one-stroke victory in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club.

Kent State shot nine under par to grab a two-stroke lead over Virginia Tech in Saturday's second round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Host school ETSU struggled, posting 3-over-par and will begin today’s final round four shots out of the lead.
