Greeneville roared back from a 10-point deficit to force overtime, and eventually earned a 56-54 double-overtime victory in the boys’ game Friday night.

There’s still plenty of work left to do, but Austin Frye has been at the head of the class among this year’s Region 1 wrestlers. The Dobyns-Bennett senior was selected as the Super 14 wrestler of the year by the Johnson City Press on Thursday.

Elizabethton placed five players in double figures and punished Sullivan South 84-42 on Tuesday night at Treadway Gym. The Lady Cyclones wrapped up a 12-0 league mark while improving to 21-3 overall.

Clark was like a heavy-handed sheriff in this one. The senior guard finished with a not-in-my-jurisdiction total of 17 points, eight assists, four rebounds, three steals and plenty of handcuff defense on South point guard Evan Headrick.

Senior point guard Tianna Tarter scored 24 points, junior wing Keisha Gregory added 20 and Science Hill finished off its fourth straight Big Seven Conference title with a 70-27 win against the second-place Lady Falcons.
