New Science Hill soccer coach David Strickland had roughly 2 weeks to get acquainted with his new team. It took the Hilltoppers roughly 80 minutes to put away Dobyns-Bennett in the Big 7 Conference rivals' first meeting of the season.

Just for kicks, Logan Birchfield has decided to attend Eastern Kentucky University and play football. The Elizabethton senior place-kicker will make it official Wednesday with the Richmond school. The ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the high school.
