Elizabethton's Birchfield lands spot on Eastern Kentucky football team

Just for kicks, Logan Birchfield has decided to attend Eastern Kentucky University and play football. The Elizabethton senior place-kicker will make it official Wednesday with the Richmond school. The ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the high school.

Hampton concluded an improbable run to a single-classification state basketball title with an upset of Union City in 1960. The programs' state rematch was 55 years in the making, and the Bulldogs will need a bigger upset in today's quarterfinals.
