After a perplexing first half that saw the Lady Cyclones score only seven points, Elizabethton found some of its usual form and eventually battled its way to a 38-34 victory over Martin Westview in the quarterfinals of the state basketball tournament.

Elizabethton led by five after three quarters but the Falcons came to life and the Cyclones couldn't hold on for the upset. Fulton won 64-50 in a Class AA sectional basketball game Tuesday night at Treadway Gymnasium.
