Cyclones down Rebels for District 1-AA title

After suffering a pair of very tight losses to the Rebels in the regular season, the Cyclones turned the tables and earned a 66-62 victory in the championship game of the District 1-AA basketball tournament at The Dyer Dome on Friday night.

Top-seeded Dobyns-Bennett's loss in its opening game of the district basketball tournament last week reminded some of those in attendance of the late Bill Wilkins' 1959-60 team at Science Hill, but Wilkins died knowing he'd won the hearts of his players.
