Tuesday's approval of the budget sets the town's property tax rate at $1.0796 per $100 on real estate and personal property, the same rate as the 2013-14 fiscal year.

The Unicoi County Election Commission has made it official - voters residing within the town of Erwin will have the opportunity to decide if liquor by drink and the establishment of retail liquor stores will be permitted in the town's limits.

Erwin man stabbed to death in Colorado

The victim was identified as Patrick Hampton, 31, of Erwin. According to police officials, Hampton was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
