Hauling the mail took on a new meaning Saturday when items normally processed, or “canceled,” in Johnson City began instead a trek to Knoxville for that purpose.

Batman lost a battle to Golden Oak on Monday in Jonesborough as the Board of Mayor and Aldermen selected a winner in the competition to name the new playground soon to be built at the northern end of the newly extended Persimmon Ridge Trail.
