Marilyn Shepard, JOHNSON CITY

Marilyn C. Shepard, 83, Johnson City, passed away at home on August 5, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
A native of San Francisco, CA, she was the daughter of the late James Abel and Vernon Jackson Boarman. Marilyn lived the majority of her life in Johnson City. She was a 1949 graduate of Science Hill High School and worked many years for Smith-Higgins before becoming a full time homemaker. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed the friends and fellowship of the Browns Mill Villa community activities where she lived.
Marilyn was a beloved wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Shepard, sisters, Rita Erskine and Elizabeth Boarman, and brothers, Father Glenn Boarman, Bill Boarman, Ted Boarman and Don Boarman, grandson, Taylor Lazarus.
She leaves behind her children and grandchildren, daughter Terri Shepard of Johnson City; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Nancy Shepard of Gastonia, NC.; daughter and son-in-law Kathy Shepard and Steve Lazarus of Fredericksburg, VA.; daughter and son-in-law Cindy Shepard and Fred Loeloff of Chatham, NJ.; grandchildren Glenn and Erin Shepard; Lauren, Tanya and Talia Lazarus; Logan and Cassie Loeloff; sister Patricia Brinkley; many nieces, nephews and very close friends Linda Hawks and Nancy Snyder.
The family requests the honor of your presence to Celebrate the Life of Marilyn C. Shepard at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services Johnson City. The family will greet guests to share memories from 5:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
A Graveside and Committal service will be held in Monte Vista Memorial Park on Friday at 11:00 AM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
