Grace H. Ammons, KINGSPORT

Grace H. Ammons, age 96 of Boones Creek, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 4th, 2014 following a short illness.
Grace was born on June 9th, 1918 in the Boones Creek community. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Sarah Elizabeth Harwood.
Grace attended Boones Creek High School and was a graduate of Whitney School of Business.
She went to work for Mason Dixon Truck Lines in 1940. She retired after 35 years of service.
Grace was a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church. She was a faithful member who loved her church.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ammons who passed away in 1983; five sisters; and one brother.
Left to cherish her memory are nineteen nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 7th, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home with Minister Marlin Jaynes, officiating.
The Interment Service will follow in the Garden of Meditation at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Forest Christian Church, 1713 East Sevier Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37664.
We are deeply grateful to so many people who have comforted and cared for Grace during the difficult last stages of her life. A very special thank you goes to the staff of Wellington Place where she lived for the last six years of her life.
