John W. Haynie, age 57, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Bristol, TN, he was a lifelong resident of Johnson City, and the son of Mary Lynn Haynie, Johnson City, and the late Ervin Haynie. Mr. Haynie was a member of Boone Trail Baptist Church. He worked as a contractor in the Tri-Cities area.
He was a loving Father and Poppy, and was always giving to others.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Haynie is survived by his daughter, Amanda Moore and husband, Dale, Jonesborough; granddaughter, Emma Moore, Jonesborough; one sister, Jayne Story and husband, Kenneth, Jonesborough; nephew, Luke Story, Jonesborough; previous wife, Vickie Hale Haynie, Johnson City.
The memorial service for Mr. Haynie will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 29, 2014, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Anglin officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
Private disposition will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Jenkins, David Rose, C.G. Crowe, S.J. Leonard, Jeff Leonard, Tyler Trivett.
