Jerry Eugene Hubbard, 72, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James Arthur and Elsie Mae Merritt Hubbard. Jerry was a graduate of Hampton High School. He served in the United States Navy Seabees during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired Electrician. Jerry attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
In earlier years he was involved with the Little League Baseball. His hobbies were his grandchildren, woodworking and was a Lady Vol Fan.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years: Loretta Norman Hubbard; Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Gregory Allen & Angela Kay Hubbard and James David & and Lori Ann Hubbard, all of Elizabethton; Two Grandchildren: Cole David and Jonah Reece Hubbard; One Sister & Brother-In-Law: Charlotte & Don Hathaway, Elizabethton; His Brothers-In-Law and Sisters-In-Law: Carl & Lola Briggs, John & Judy Ashley and Phil & Pam Gentry; Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Mark Potter officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 7:50 p.m. Thursday and also at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, will be: Phil Gentry, John Ashley, Pete Perry, Keith Foster, Jerry Warner and O.B. Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Carl Briggs, Don Hathaway and Dr. Pandian. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion.

Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
