Estaleen Bennett Burkett, ERWIN

Estaleen Bennett Burkett, age 90, 880 Mohawk Dr., Erwin, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in the Center on Aging following a lengthy illness.
She was a native of Milligan, TN, and daughter of the late Walter and Loy DeVault Bennett. Mrs. Burkett was a member of Martindale Baptist Church. She was employed as a cook for numerous years for Unicoi County School System, Milligan College and Appalachian Christian Village.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Burkett was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walter Burkett, in 2010; and five sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Burkett is survived by two sons: Charles Walter Burkett, and wife, Charlotte, Unicoi, Richard Franklin Burkett and wife, Loretta, Calabash, NC; one brother, Jim Bennett and wife, Judy, Charlotte, NC; Two grandsons: Walter Franklin Burkett, Unicoi, Richard Bradley Burkett and wife, Kirsten, Knoxville; three granddaughters: Heather Nicole Eason and husband, Terry, Southport, NC, Shanna Burkett, Vickie Cushman, Sunset Beach, NC; seven great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Burkett will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 1:30 PM from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Delbert Storie will officiate. Pallbearers will be Walter Franklin Burkett, Brad Burkett, Jason Street, Mike Garland and Jeff Davis. Special music will be provided by Inez Chandler.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service between the hours of 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM and other times at the family home, 5704 Unicoi Dr., Unicoi.
Interment will be immediately following in Roselawn Memory Gardens.
