Connie Buchanan, JOHNSON CITY

Connie Buchanan, age 66, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
A lifelong native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Onks and Helen Campbell Onks. She was a member of Harrison Christian Church, and was a long time waitress at Misaki Japanese Steakhouse, Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by her previous husband, Roger Buchanan.
Survivors include her son, Travis Buchanan, Johnson City; one brother, Randy Onks, Winston-Salem, NC; three aunts, Doris Usuary, Piney Flats, Bonnie Ford and Phyllis Sparks, both of Johnson City. Several cousins also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Buchanan will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2014, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. in the parlor prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
