R. Floyd Long, KNOXVILLE

R. Floyd Long, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Maker on June 7, 2014.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clinton and Dorothy Long; brother, Bill Long; sister, Shirley Arrowood; and son, Danny Long, all of Florida.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Long; son, Reverend Tony Long and wife, Barbara, of Murfreesboro; son, Russell Long and wife, Tina;, other children, Monty Steele, Teresa Bayless and husband, Scott, all of Knoxville. He is also survived by brother, Charles Long and wife, Millie, brother, Leroy Long and wife, Vickie, brother, Gary Long, all of Florida; brother, Fred Long, of Texas; sisters, Charlotte Hicks and Annie Long, of Johnson City; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to him.
He was formerly employed 40 years at ORNL, spending time at both K25 and X10 plants before retiring in 1993.
A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday June 28, 2014, at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel on Adair Drive.
All flower arrangements will be donated to Random Acts of Flowers after the service.
