The Rev. Chester "Andy" Britt, JOHNSON CITY

Rev. Chester “Andy” Britt, age 84, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
A native of Jonesborough, TN, he was a son of the late Charlie and Fannie Dixon Britt. Mr. Britt was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. He retired from Klopman Mills, Burlington Mills. Mr. Britt was a member of the Army National Guard and the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Britt was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Britt, in December 2013; one son, Manuel Britt; brother, Jack Britt; three sisters, Frances Thompson, Selma Berry and Lilly Mae Steadman.
Survivors include a daughter, Trinna Foster, Johnson City; one son, Marty Britt and wife, Betty, Mosheim, TN; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Britt will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 5, 2014, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 until 7:00 PM in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, June 6, at Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 P.M. Friday.
