Mary Graham Barnette, age 70, of Limestone, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Laughlin Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 7 PM.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 11 AM at Graceland Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sam Smith officiating.
Survivors include: husband: Dallas J. Barnette; son: Troy L. Barnette and wife, Carla, of Limestone; 4 sisters: Janette Edwards and husband, William, of Grayling, MI, Margaret Arnett and husband, Ned, of Kingsport, TN, Frankie Kimery and friend, Carol Monk, of Chuckey, TN, Johnnie Bitner and husband, Carl (Joe), of Chuckey, TN; grandson: Thomas J. Bitner, of Chuckey; 2 step grandchildren: Leslie Flannery, of Limestone, Carol Brewer and husband, Eddie, of Chuckey; 4 step great grandchildren: Spencer and Storm Brewer, of Chuckey, and EJ and Eli Flannery, of Limestone; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Freda Graham, of Limestone, Eugene Treadway, of Jonesborough, Donald and Patsy Barnette, of Gray, Douglas and Geneva Barnette, of Duffield VA; several nieces and nephews; very special friend: Carolyn Reed.
Mrs. Barnette was born in Washington County to her parents: Shelby Franklin and Elizabeth “Betty” Hill Graham. She also was preceded in death by daughter: Tracy Blackburn; 2 brothers: Franklin Authur Graham and Shelby Samuel Graham; sister: Ina Sue Treadway; nephew: Robert Dwayne Edwards.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
She retired after 44 years with the Kingsport Press in Kingsport, TN.
She loved to go to the UT Girls games and the Greeneville Astros; she loved hummingbirds and nurturing her farm animals
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-7 PM at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service at Afton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Laughlin Memorial Hospital doctors and the ICU staff for their devoted care.
