Michael "Mike" Watson, WATAUGA

Michael James “Mike” Watson, 48, Watauga, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mike was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He was a farmer. Mike was a member of the Clark Street Baptist Church, Johnson City.
He was preceded in death by his father: Lewis Malone. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include a daughter: Laura D. Watson, Bluff City. His Mother: Barbara McLaney Malone, Watauga. One Brother: Richard Watson, Atlanta, Georgia. One Sister: Deanna Harkleroad, Johnson City. An Aunt: Teresa Gross, Bluff City and a very special aunt: Bobbie McLaney, Elizabethton. One Uncle: Jim McLaney and wife Naomi, Piney Flats. His Nieces: Courtney Harkleroad and Felicia Watson. His Nephews: Jamie Harkleroad and Brian Watson. A Great Niece: Marley Watson, a great Nephew: Darian Watson. Several cousins and a host of friends.
A private Graveside Service for family members will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion & Tennessee National Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his mother, Barbara Watson, 371 Old Rock Hill Road, Watauga, Tenn. 37694.
