Mary Katherine Scott, Johnson City, went home to the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2014.
Mrs. Scott was born July 1, 1920, to the late Dewey & Rachel Moore Cox in LaFollette, TN.
She worked as an L.P.N. at the Johnson City Medical Center for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin Scott, in 1970; sons, Jack Scott & Dennis Scott, both in 2013; brothers, Samuel Cox and Elmer Cox (infant).
She is survived by son, Norman Scott (Claudia), Jonesborough, TN; daughters, Peggy (Porter) Harrison, Frederick, MD, Sandra (Wayne) Ellis, Tyler, TX, Dr. Donna Miller, Johnson City, TN; daughter-in-law, Carol Scott, Trade, TN; brother, Daniel Cox (Blanche), Ohio; sisters-in-law, Mary Cox and Wanda Hill. Her grandchildren are: Scott Harrison (Flo), Amy Dudrow (Ryan), Deni Robbins, Kathy Scott, Jeffery Scott (Michelle), Lisa Gordon (Bruce), Nikki Large (Todd), Lisa Bodenhiemer (Yul); 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nephews & nieces and friends, including special friend, Juanita Holbert.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Appalachian Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 P.M., with the service following at 1:30 P.M., led by granddaughter Lisa Bodenhiemer. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Honorary pallbearers: Robert Huffine, Porter Harrison and Wayne Ellis.
Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery following the service.
