Sherman Wilson, ERWIN

Sherman Lee Wilson, age 70, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
He was a native of Washington County and a son of the late Isham and Rosa Starnes Wilson. Mr. Wilson retired as a carpenter.
Sherman loved bluegrass very much and he enjoyed Saturday night bluegrass at David Thompson’s Produce on highway 107. He also loved gardening and working in his yard and he loved his family very much. Sherman was a happy fellow and always had a great personality.
Sherman is preceded in death by his brother: Edd D Wilson; and two brothers-in-law: Herman Huskins and James P Shelton.
Sherman has left behind to cherish his memories his wife: Sonya Foster Wilson; Son: Richard Lee Wilson, of Erwin; Daughter: Lisa Potter, of Johnson City; Sisters: Nancy Lou Wilson, of Erwin, Ida Sue Huskins, her husband, Butch, of Erwin, Barbara Huskins, of Erwin; Grandchild: Ella Huskins; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family request the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Sherman Lee Wilson in a funeral service at 7:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Roger Nethers will officiate.
A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time.
A committal service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 26, 2014, in Bumpass Cove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Foster, Daniel Payne, Victor Shelton, Jay Shelton, Charles Wilson and Jeff Huskins. Those who plan to attend, please meet at 9:30 AM Saturday at Valley Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery.
