Mrs. Janie Louise Henson Carr, age 62, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late Charles “Bud” and Reva Lee Perry Henson and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ray Carr; a grandson, Christopher Davis; great-grandson, Joshua Holston; and a brother, Bobby Henson.
Mrs. Carr loved to take rides and treasured taking in the scenery. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved and cherished them very much.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Samantha Pickering and her husband, Sherrill; a son, Christopher Carr and his wife, Marianna, all of Elizabethton; seven grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Pickering, Alyssa Reese, Zachary Carr, Kirsten Carr, Hannah Reese, Joshua Carr, Riley Reece; a great-grandchild, Kylie Davis; two sisters, Judy Galloway and her husband, Roger, Bluff City, Debbie Perry and her husband, Jerry, Hickory, NC; a brother, Steve Henson and his wife, Louise, Harstville, SC; and a special friend, Tim Carr, Bluff City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Carr will be conducted on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 7:00 PM at River of Life Baptist Church, 819 Austin Springs Road, Piney Flats with Rev. Donnie Humphrey officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church on Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service.
