Charles Laws, ERWIN

Charles Edward Laws, age 67, 125 Ford Street, Erwin, peacefully entered his heavenly home on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital, Erwin.
He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and the only son of the late Clyde and Genevieve Honeycutt Laws. Charles retired in 2011 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation after twenty-six years of service. He attended the Southside Freewill Baptist Church.
Charles is survived by his “soul sister” (cousin) and special caregiver, Jan Honeycutt Larkins of Kingsport, two aunts, Kathleen McIntosh of Unicoi and Mary Jane Linville of Brandon, Florida, and an uncle, Jeff Laws and wife, Nancy of Walkertown, NC.
A celebration of life for Charles will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 2:00 pm, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kevin Laws and Reverend Roger Laws will officiate. Music will be provided by Allen Laws. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Ingram, Jeff Laws, Mike McIntosh, Tim McInturff, Bobby Ray and Tony Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
All pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 1:30 pm Tuesday. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Committal service will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Freewill Baptist Church, 1313 Chestoa Pike, Erwin, TN 37650.
