Pastor Robert Fletcher Dickenson, GRAY

Pastor Robert Fletcher Dickenson was born June 9th 1923.
Pastor Dickenson served in several Pastorate positions for over seventy years in our area: Mountain City, Johnson City and Elizabethton and Limestone Tennessee. His latest Pastoralship was the Sheep Fold on Opie Arnold Road in Limestone, Tennessee, until health problems caused him to resign the position. Pastor Dickenson is a former employee and retiree from the Johnson City Power Board.
Pastor Dickenson entered into rest on March 28th at Life Care Center of Gray, Tennessee.
He was born in Castlewood, VA, to Henry and Vatie Dickenson. Pastor Dickenson was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife (Elnora); ex-wife (Clara); five sisters; four brothers; and a host of friends that he made part of his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Aretha O. Scott (Johnson City); special nephew, Rev. Johnny Dickerson (Marie); several other nieces and nephews; One goddaughter, Wilma Kay Love (Charles); A special friend, Sis. Walker (Johnson City); a host of cousins and other dear friends.
Pastor Dickenson never met a stranger. If there were ever a need and he was made aware of it, he would do whatever he could to solve the problem. Pastor Dickenson believed in the power of prayer. He started several prayer meetings in various parts of Johnson City, Elizabethton, Mountain City and Limestone, Tennessee.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Birchette Mortuary Chapel of Love.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be on Tuesday on April 1, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the Washington County Memory Gardens Johnson City Tennessee.
