Wayne Tracy Harrison, ELIZABETHTON

Wayne Tracy Harrison, 71, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lon and Alice Pressnell Harrison. Wayne was a retired Mechanic from the Carter County Highway Department. He was a member of the Rittertown Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and two infant grandchildren.
He loved to hunt, fish and go camping.
Survivors include his wife: Evelyn Salyers Harrison; One Daughter: Tracey Rutledge, Elizabethton; Three Sons: Brian Harrison and wife, Becky, and Travis Winters and wife, Lisa, all of Elizabethton, and Gregory Harrison and wife, Shelia, Greeneville; Two Step-Daughters: Susanne Burke and April Canter, both of Elizabethton; One Brother: Albert Harrison and wife, Florence, Watauga; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Also several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Storie and Rev. Gene Fleenor officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the Harrison Family Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Johnson City Medical Center and Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, for the excellent care Wayne received and also to all his friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
