Sue Ann Widing McMullen, West Palm Beach, FL, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Roger P. and Marjorie Cavanaugh Widing and a native of Rochester, NY.
Mrs. McMullen was a resident of Johnson City from 1978 until moving to West Palm Beach in 1998. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had been actively involved in many community organizations and activities. Sue was an avid golfer and bridge player. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Widing.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, A.J. McMullen Jr., W. Palm Beach, FL; three children, Marjorie McMullen Thomas, A.J. McMullen III, Julie McMullen Shearin and husband, Don, all of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Jules Moran Thomas, A.J. McMullen, Lindi Sue McMullen, Laney Rush McMullen, Marshall McMullen Shearin and Madison Fern Shearin; a brother, Roger P. Widing Jr., Sterling, VA; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will have a private service at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2211 E. Lakeview Dr., Johnson City, TN 37601.
