Clare "Oma" Collier, ROGERSVILLE

Clare “Oma” Collier, 97, of Rogersville, TN, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 6, 2014, at her residence.
She was born May 14, 1916, in Bristol, TN. Oma graduated from Tennessee High School and St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing School in Savannah, GA. She worked as a registered nurse for 60+ years. Oma worked in Georgia, South Carolina, Michigan and Tennessee.
She was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Oma was a member of Eastern Star and was a charter member of Altrusa International.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Garnie L. Collier; her parents, A.D. and Mamie Weaver; and her granddaughter, Angela J. Smith.
She is survived by her son, Joe M. Smith; and daughter, Rebecca Halligan (Tom). She has 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nell Ford, and a niece and 3 nephews. She also has a special little dog named “Fancy.”
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Charles Toonie Cash officiating. A procession of family and friends will leave Weaver Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to go to the cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Caris Healthcare for the wonderful care they gave Oma.
