Brenda Tipton, EVANS, Ga.

Brenda Sue Laughrun Tipton, age 66, of Evans, Georgia, formerly of Erwin, Tennessee, died peacefully in her sleep on March 4, 2014, at University Hospital in Augusta, GA, with her husband and son by her side.
Brenda was born September 9, 1947, in Erwin, Tennessee, a daughter of Mabel Byrd Laughrun, of Erwin, and the late Isaac Laughrun. She married Russell Tipton on January 26, 1969, in Burnsville, North Carolina.
Brenda was an Army wife, and greatly enjoyed the six years in Germany and the two years in South Korea. Brenda was a long-time resident of the Augusta area, moving there in 1979. She was the Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Pharmacy at Humana Hospital-Aug usta from 1980 until 1995.
She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, particularly macramé and cross-stitch.
Other than her mother, Brenda will be remembered by her husband, Russell, of Evans, GA; her son, Andrew, and daughter-in-law, Mary Unruh-Tipton, of Greenfield, California. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive. She will also be remembered by her close friend, Rose St. John, of Evans, Georgia.
A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel in Erwin. Reverend David Tyding will officiate.
A private entombment for the family will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum.
Brenda loved her pets, and donations to the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood Street, Augusta, GA 30904 are requested in lieu of flowers.
