William "Bill" Metcalf, ERWIN

William “Bill” Metcalf, age 77, of Erwin, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Tom and Hattie Deweese Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a professional truck driver and attended Grace Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Tommy Metcalf and sisters, Earlene Alman, Betty Hampton and Ernestine Viedaka.
Bill has left behind to cherish his memory: Wife: Judy Riddle Metcalf of Erwin; Son: Mike Metcalf of Erwin; Grandsons: Jamie and Thomas Metcalf of Erwin; Sister: Barbara Peterson and husband, Gordon of Johnson City; Sister-in-law: Hilda Metcalf of Greeneville; Special Friends: Nancy and Phillip Edney of Erwin, Norman and Michelle Boone of Nashville, Willie Morrow of Erwin; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at a funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of William “Bill” Metcalf on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Travis Holloway and Reverend Willie Morrow will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Tim and Jake Riddle. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time on Tuesday at Valley Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Martin Creek Cemetery with the Unicoi County High School Jr. ROTC providing military honors. Musical selections will be provided by Debbie Metcalf. Those who will be attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home on Wednesday by 9:30 AM to go in procession to Martin Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be notified by the family.
