ERWIN — Julia Phillips, age 97, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Center on Aging and Health.
Mrs. Phillips was a native of Burnsville, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late John and Mary McCurry Edwards. Julia was a loving housewife and a member of Lily Dale Church of Christ. She was a member of the Clinchfield Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips is preceded in death by her husband, Suil Phillips.
Julia has left behind to cherish her memories: Daughter: Mary Ann Biggs and husband, Howard of Clio, MI; Son: Sam Phillips of Jackson, SC; Grandchildren: Danny Biggs, David Biggs, Elizabeth Ehrmantraut, Sandy Phillips; Great grandchildren: Anna Biggs, Julia Childers, David Biggs, Jr., Christina Wharton, Gracie Ehrmantraut, Carly Ehrmantraut.
The family requests the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Julia Phillips in a funeral service to be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Minister Randall Sidwell officiating. Committal services will be held on Tuesday following the funeral service in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until service time on Tuesday at Valley Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be members of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations be made to the Lily Dale Church of Christ, 1140 Martins Creek Road, Erwin, TN 37650.
