Mary Sue Rice, FlAG POND

Mary Sue Rice, age 75, 113 New Camp Road, Flag Pond, went home to be with the Lord at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, in Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 16, 1938, in Unicoi County, a daughter of the late Hobert Calvin and Esther Bertha Tipton Rice. Ms. Rice was member of Upper Rice Creek Baptist Church and was a retired dental assistant.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Floyd Rice, Coy Rice Sr. and Dallas Rice.
Ms. Rice is survived by a sister, Clara Moore, Winfield, Illinois; two aunts: Audie Rice, Erwin, and Lou Shelton, Jonesborough. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside service for Ms. Rice will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, in Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Joey Murdock will officiate. Active pallbearers will be James Rice, Terry Rice, Herman Rice, Dwight Briggs, J.B. Watts and Howard McIntosh.
The family will receive friends prior to the service between the hours of 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
