McNeil "Mac" Brooks Jr., JOHNSON CITY

McNeil “Mac” Brooks, Jr. of Johnson City, passed away at home early Wednesday morning, December 25, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
He was a disabled veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was born in Wise, VA and was a son of the late McNeil and Ruth Dishman Brooks, Sr. Mac was a member of Oaks Fellowship of Johnson City; Marine Corps League; very active in Toys for Tots; League functions and Vietnam Wounded Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Brooks; one daughter, April Brooks; one son, David Allen Brooks; two brothers, Christopher Brooks and David G. Brooks; one sister, Marcella Peek; several nieces, nephews, cousins; one grandchild, Kiernen Brooks; several great nieces and nephews.
A military graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the V.A. National Cemetery, Mtn. Home, TN with Rev. John Bragg, Sr. officiating. Everyone will meet at the cemetery.
