Lee Barnett, age 75, of Johnson City, TN passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 following a lengthy illness at Lakebridge Healthcare with several family members by his side.
A lifelong resident of Johnson City, he was the son of the late Earnest and Louise Barnett. Mr. Barnett was a member of Berea Freewill Baptist Church, and worked as an Automotive Body Repairman. He was an avid Nascar fan, and was considered to be a laid back simple man who loved his family.
Mr. Barnett is survived by 5 children, Terry Barnett, Knoxville, Debbie Stinnett and husband Robert, Knoxville, Randy Barnett and wife Audrey, Las Vegas, NV, Christy Cottrell, and husband James, Johnson City, Matthew Barnett, and wife Alisha, Johnson City; Grandchildren, Chuck, Terri, Kevin, Ashlie, and Brandon; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Gray, Jonesborough, Shelby Denton, Gray. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Barnett will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Stout officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 2, at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Randy Barnett, Randall Gray, David Gray, Kevin Lewis, James Cottrell, and Brandon Johnson. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:25 A.M. Thursday.
