Margaret Donovan, HATTIESBURG, Miss

Margaret Peters Donovan, affectionately known as Midge, left this life December 9, 2013, after almost 92 years.
She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, December 19, 1921, to Goldie Hearson Peters and Hobart McKinley Peters.
Margaret was happily married to the love of her life, Dr. Jack Pollard Donovan, for 55 years. They resided in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, for over 40 years, where she worked in the Theater and English Department of the University of Southern Mississippi as an administrative assistant prior to retirement. Margaret was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her 4 children, Jacquelyn Niess, of Hattiesburg, James Donovan (Roy), of Orlando, Florida, Dr. Brian Donovan (Patsy), and John Donovan, both of Johnson City, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren, Richard Niess, Suzanne Niess Sanders (Marcus), Patrick Donovan (Kara), Erin Donovan, Andy Donovan (Jenny), Katie Donovan and Angela Donovan; and 2 great-grandchildren, Clara Grace Sanders and Rose Marie Clementine Donovan.
When Margaret set her mind on something there was no stopping her. She was greatly loved and will be missed. The family takes solace in the fact that she is with her beloved Jack once again.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to USM Foundation, Fund #1153 for the Dr. Jack P. Donovan Memorial Scholarship and sent to 118 College Dr., #5210, Hattiesburg, MS 39406.
Visitation will be at Hulett Winstead Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 1:30 PM Thursday.
Burial is to follow in Highland Cemetery.
