Shirley Osborne, JOHNSON CITY

Shirley Jean (Hall) Rowland Osborne passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center, surrounded by family, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Washington County, TN, and resided in the Boones Creek community most of her life. She graduated from Boones Creek High School, was employed at Kingsport Press, retiring in 1999 with 35 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.
Shirley loved to work puzzles, decorate for Christmas, cook and ride motorcycles with TJ, having visited 49 states, Canada and Mexico.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Dennis Dunn, Naaman Cox and Aaron Cox. Committal and entombment will follow immediately after the service at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents: Lokie L. and Esther Archer Hall; brother: Jerry L. Hall; and sister-in-law: Kathleen (Kat) Keefauver Hall.
Survivors include her husband of forty two and a half years: T.J. Osborne, Johnson City; son: Mike Rowland, Kingsport; daughter: Kathy Rowland Cox and husband, Darrell, Gray; son: Tim Osborne and Sara Williams, Johnson City; grandsons: Matthew Rowland and wife, Brandy, Naaman Cox, Aaron Cox and wife, Elizabeth, Alex Osborne and fiancé, Christina Britton; great-granddaughter: Brylee Rowland; brothers: Harold Hall and wife, Charlotte, Johnson City, Bob Hall and wife, Naomi, Johnson City; sister-in-law: Julia Hall, Kingsport; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Norman Proffitt, Darrell Cox, Matthew Rowland, Naaman Cox, Aaron Cox and Alex Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Mayes, Dean Crumley, Carson Lane, Ken Hayes, Michael Ray, Robert Payne and Larry Black.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Richard McDavid, Dr. Allison Langrel, Dr. Carmina Garcia, Dr. Ahmadd Khan, Dr. Fawwaz Hamati, as well as the doctors at Johnson City Internal medicine, the nurses on the 6300 and 5200 wings at Johnson City Medical Center, for the wonderful care Shirley was given.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Shirley’s memory to Niswonger Children’s Hospital, 400 N. State of Franklin Rd., Johnson City, TN 37604. Please put in memory of Shirley Osborne on the memo line.
